Our Facilitators

 Lon Peckham, DMD 
Lon Peckham is both the founder and director of the Northwest School of Dental Arts as well as the Selkirk Study Club.  In addition he maintains a private practice in Post Falls, Idaho limited to adult comprehensive health centered prosthodontic and restorative dental care.  He has completed extensive post -graduate education at the Dawson Academy, Spear Education, and the Pankey Institute where he serves as a mentor. He is also certified in Lead Management and Choice Theory by the Glasser Institute.
When not involved in dentistry, Dr. Peckham and his wife Barbara raise Quarter and Appaloosa cow horses which they enjoy taking on long backcountry pack trips.
 
Christine Anderson, RDA  
Chris Anderson is the administrator and primary insrtuctor for our dental assistant program.  Chris brings a wealth of experience and a contagious enthusiasm for the dental profession that is second to none.  Teaching is so much more to her than just a job, it is her passion!  Whether you are one of her patients, or one of her students, you can't help but know you are going to be well cared for and have fun in the process.
When not working, Chris enjoys working on her house (she can literally fix or remodel anything!) and playing with her family, especially granddaughter Kennedy.  Together they have fun golfing, boating, biking, and of course shopping!
 
Fred Cory, DDS
Fred Cory operated his private practice in Quincy, Illinois for 34 years, specializing in holism, occlusion and the building of interpersonal relationships, prior to retiring to northwestern Montana where he continues his consulting services. His educational and teaching background includes Westminster College, Marquette University, and the US Army Corps. Dr. Cory also served as the Director of Collateral Programs at LD Pankey Institute from 1974 to 1981.
 
Dr. Cory, a licensed pilot, continues to travel nationally and internationally to provide consulting services as well as conducting teaching seminars for the betterment of dental patient care. He also serves on the board and as a facilitator for the Tanner-Mahan Foundation.
 
Nancy Downend, RDH
Nancy Downend has been practicing and teaching advanced dental hygiene skills for over 25 years.  Formerly an instructor at Pac Live, she continues her teaching career here at NWSDA and in private in-office sessions where she brings a refreshing dose of honesty and integrity to the practice of dental hygiene and laser implementation.  In high demand by Biolase and other manufactures, Nancy has a unique ability to guide her students on a path to increasing excellence and implimentation in caring for the health of their patients.
